Megamind is a 2010 American 3D computer-animated superhero comedy film directed by Tom McGrath, produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures.1 The film premiered on October 28, 2010 in Russia, while it was released in the United States in Digital 3D, IMAX 3D and 2D on November 5, 2010. It features the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, David Cross, and Brad Pitt.

The film tells the story of a super-intelligent alien supervillain, Megamind, who after a long-lasting battle one day actually destroys his foe, the much-loved superhero Metro Man. Having the fictional Metro City for himself, Megamind finds out that his villainy has no purpose and thus creates a new superhero to serve as his nemesis. His plan backfires, as he ends up creating instead a new super-villain. With Metro City spiraling out of control, Megamind attempts to set things right and discovers his newfound purpose - as a superhero.

Megamind received generally positive reviews from critics, praising its strong visuals and the cast's performances, but criticizing its unoriginality.[4] With a budget of $130 million, the film grossed over $321 million worldwide,[2] and despite being a moderate box office success, it became one of DreamWorks Animation's lowest-grossing CG animated films.

Dr. Seuss' The Lorax is a 2012 American computer-animated 3D musical fantasy comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment and based on Dr. Seuss' children's book of the same name. The film was released by Universal Pictures on March 2, 2012, the 108th birthday of Dr. Seuss.

It is the second adaptation of the book, following the 1972 animated musical television special. It builds on the book by expanding the story of Ted, the previously unnamed boy who visits the Once-ler.

The cast includes Danny DeVito as the Lorax, Ed Helms as the Once-ler and Zac Efron as Ted. The Boxtrolls is a 2014 American 3D stop-motion animated fantasy-comedy film based on the novel Here Be Monsters! by Alan Snow. Synopsis

A woman opens her car's door and throws a toy on the sidewalk so that her cat chases after the toy. The cat, realizing that he has been abandoned by his owner, looks for a refuge. He comes to an old house with fame of cursed in the neighborhood. Trying to escape from it, he is threatened by a rabbit called Jack and a mouse called Maggie, ordering him to leave the house before Zoltar sees him. Zoltar, a nice old magician, finds the cat and decides to adopt him, naming him Thunder.

Thunder learns about the house, as well as the automatons and gizmos created by Zoltar for his magician's shows. Meanwhile, Jack and Maggie try by all ways to exile Thunder from the house, convinced that Thunder is a competence for Zoltar's attentions and that he is deceiving Zoltar to stay in the house and substitute them. When Zoltar suffers an accident and is sent to the hospital, Jack and Maggie convince Zoltar's creations about Thunder's guilt in the accident, and Thunder goes to find Zoltar to apologize.

With Zoltar in the hospital, his materialist and real estate agent, Daniel, who is also his nephew, tricks Zoltar into putting his house of magic up for sale, in order for Daniel to sell the house to the highest bidder. Discovering Daniel's trick, Thunder goes back home to alert Zoltar's gizmos and automatons, but Jack and Maggie try to exile him again.

When Daniel comes home with one or two possible buyers, Thunder uses all tricks and cheats in order to prevent the house from being sold. Zoltar also discovers Daniel's deceit and tries to leave the hospital. Meanwhile, Thunder, Jack, Maggie and the rest of Zoltar's toys are in a race against the time to save the house before Daniel destroys it.

Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015 film)

Shaun the Sheep Movie is a 2015 British stop-motion animated adventure comedy film based on the Shaun the Sheep television series by Nick Park starring a character introduced in the 1995 Aardman Animations' Wallace and Gromit short, A Close Shave. The film follows Shaun and his flock into the big city to rescue their farmer, who found himself amnesiac there as a result of their mischief.

It was produced by Aardman Animations, and financed by StudioCanal in association with Anton Capital Entertainment, with the former also distributing the film in the United Kingdom and several other European countries.

Richard Starzak and Mark Burton wrote and directed the film, with Ilan Eshkeri composing the music, while Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes, and Omid Djalili provided the voices. Shaun the Sheep Movie was nominated at the 88th Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. They had also 5 nomination in The Annie Awards including Best Animated Feature.

Maya the Bee (promoted theatrically as Maya the Bee Movie) is a 2014 German-Australian-Belgian 3D computer-animated comedy adventure film directed by Alexs Stadermann, based on the German children's book of the same name by Waldemar Bonsels. Frozen Fever is a 2015 American computer-animated musical fantasy short film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

The film's setting takes place after the 2013 feature film Frozen, and it tells the story of Anna's birthday party given by Elsa with the help of Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee again served as the directors with Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad providing the lead voices.

Synopsis

Elsa plans to give Anna a surprise birthday party with the help of Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf; but while Anna is led on a "party treasure hunt" by a string that winds through the kingdom, Elsa has caught a cold, and unknowingly produces a group of small animated snowmen with each sneeze, who begin to dismantle the birthday party's decorations while Kristoff tries to stop them.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014 film)

Mr. Peabody & Sherman is a 2014 American 3D computer-animated comic science fiction film featuring the characters Mr. Peabody and Sherman of the 1960s animated television series The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. It is produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox.

The movie is directed by Rob Minkoff, who is most famous for co-directing Walt Disney Animation Studios' The Lion King. Alex Schwartz and Denise Nolan Cascino are the producers. Tiffany Ward, daughter of Jay Ward, one of the creators of the original series, is the executive producer. Mr. Peabody & Sherman features the voices of Ty Burrell, Max Charles and Ariel Winter.

It is the first DreamWorks animated feature to feature characters from the Classic Media library since DreamWorks Animation's 2012 acquisition of Classic Media and the first to be based on a TV show. The film premiered on February 7, 2014 in the United Kingdom, and was released on March 7, 2014 in the United States.

Despite grossing a worldwide total of $275 million on its $145 million budget, the film underperformed at the box office, forcing a writedown of $57 million. A TV series based on the film, titled The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, was released on Netflix on October 9, 2015.

Synopsis

Mr. Peabody is a gifted anthropomorphic dog who has an adopted 7-year-old son, Sherman. He tutors Sherman travelling throughout history using the WABAC, a time machine.

They visit Marie Antoinette in Versailles during the French Revolution in 1789. Getting caught in the Reign of Terror, Peabody is nearly executed by Maximilien Robespierre with a guillotine, but escapes with Sherman through the Paris sewers.

In the present day, Sherman attends the Susan B. Anthony School in New York City. His knowledge of the apocryphal nature of the George Washington cherry-tree anecdote leads to a fight with Penny Peterson in the cafeteria where she puts him in a choke hold. Peabody is called in by Principal Purdy who tells Peabody that Sherman had bit Penny. He is also confronted during this meeting by Ms. Grunion, a Child Protective Services agent, who implies that Sherman's behavior is due to being raised by a dog. She informs Peabody that she'll come to their home to investigate whether he is an unfit parent.

Peabody invites Penny and her parents over for a dinner party to reconcile before Ms. Grunion arrives. Penny calls Sherman a liar for claiming first-hand knowledge of history. Despite Peabody's contrary instructions, Sherman shows Penny the WABAC. Penny goads Sherman into taking her into the past, where she stays in Ancient Egypt in 1,330 BCE to marry King Tut. Sherman returns to get Mr. Peabody's help. Peabody hypnotises the Petersons, and retrieves Penny by telling her the fate of a pharaoh's widow...

Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011 film)

Kung Fu Panda 2 is a 2011 3D American computer-animated action comedy-drama martial arts film, directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, produced by DreamWorks Animation, and distributed by Paramount Pictures.1 It is the sequel to the 2008 film Kung Fu Panda and the second installment in the Kung Fu Panda franchise.

The film stars Jack Black, Gary Oldman, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, James Hong, Michelle Yeoh, Danny McBride, Dennis Haysbert, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Victor Garber. In the film, Po and his friends battle to stop a would-be conqueror Lord Shen with his powerful new weapon, with the giant panda discovering a disquieting link to his past in the process.

The film was released on May 26, 2011 in Real D 3D and Digital 3D. Kung Fu Panda 2 received positive reviews, with critics praising its animation, voice acting, action scenes and character development. It was also a commercial success surpassing the original film and, like the original film, was the highest grossing animated feature film of the year. The film was nominated for the 2011 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 84th Academy Awards.

A sequel, titled Kung Fu Panda 3, and directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni, was released on January 29, 2016.

Synopsis

Years before the events of the first film, Lord Shen, the scion of a peacock clan that rules Gongmen City in ancient China, seeks to harness fireworks as a weapon. After discovering from the court's goat Soothsayer that "a warrior of black-and-white" will defeat him if he does not change his ways, Shen leads an army of wolves to exterminate the panda population to avert the prophecy. Shen's parents are horrified at this atrocity and exile their son, who swears revenge.

In the present day, Po is living his dream as the Dragon Warrior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, the Furious Five. His teacher Shifu tells him, however, that he has yet to achieve inner peace.

While defending a village from wolf bandits who have been stealing refined metal for Shen, Po is distracted by a symbol on the wolf leader's armor, which causes Po to have a flashback of his mother and allows the wolves to escape. Po asks his goose father, Mr. Ping, about his origins. Ping reveals that he found Po as an infant in a radish crate and adopted him, but Po remains unsatisfied, wondering how and why he ended up in the Valley of Peace.

Rio (2011 film)

Rio is a 2011 American 3D computer-animated musical adventure-comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and directed by Carlos Saldanha. The title refers to the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro,[4] where the film is set. The film features the voices of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, will.i.am, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, Tracy Morgan, Jemaine Clement, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, and Jake T. Austin.

It tells the story of Blu (Eisenberg), a male Spix's macaw who is taken to Rio de Janeiro to mate with a free-spirited female Spix's macaw, Jewel (Hathaway). The two eventually fall in love, and together they have to escape from being smuggled by Nigel (Clement), a cockatoo. The theme song, "Telling the World" was performed by Taio Cruz.

Saldanha developed his first story concept of Rio in 1995, in which a penguin is washed up in Rio. Saldanha learned of the production of the films Happy Feet (2006) and Surf's Up (2007), and changed the concept to involve macaws and their environments in Rio.

He proposed his idea to Chris Wedge in 2006, and the project was set up at Blue Sky. The main voice actors were approached in 2009. During production, the crew visited Rio de Janeiro and also consulted with an expert on macaws at the Bronx Zoo to study their movements.

Rio premiered on March 22, 2011 in Lagoa, Rio de Janeiro, and had its general release on April 15, 2011 in North America. The film received generally positive reviews from film critics. Observers praised the visuals, voice acting, and music.

The film was also a box office success, grossing over $143 million in the United States and $484 million worldwide. The film was nominated for Academy Award for Best Original Song for the song "Real in Rio", but lost to the other nominee, "Man or Muppet" from The Muppets. A sequel, Rio 2, was released on April 11, 2014.

Little Krishna (2013 film)

History of the film

Little Krishna is a 3D computer-animated series which is a co-creation between BIG Animation and India Heritage Foundation (promoted by Akshaya Patra Foundation). The series started showing on Indian television on Nickelodeon from 11 May 2009.

It depicts the childhood pastimes of Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who appeared in the village of Vrindavana. The stories of the animated series revolve around Little Krishna, the land of Vrindavan and the life of villagers there. There are currently 13, 23-minute episodes in the series. Using the traditional tales of Krishna's childhood adventures as a foundation, the tonality of the stories is both light-hearted and, at times, serious.

Little Krishna is a lovable and mischievous character who enjoys helping his friends and villagers. Based on the chronicles of Srimad Bhagavatam and the writings of the Six Goswamis of Vrindavana, the series is an outcome of seven years of research by the devotees of ISKCON Bangalore with two and half years of production work by BIG Animation. Scripted by Emmy Award winner Jeffrey Scott and researched by Chanchalapati Dasa, Chamari Devi Dasi and Bhaktilata Devi Dasi, the series was based on the teachings of HDG A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

The series has a visual style, which combines Indian design motifs with classical Western styles. The design team at BIG Animation has researched every style aspect of the land of 'Vraj', where these stories took place 5000 years ago. The backgrounds, art direction, color keys and all other elements of detailing were thoroughly researched upon, unearthing every possible reference and finally deciding on the designs that will suit the contemporary formats.

The series has been primarily created in English, but it has also been dubbed in several other Indian languages, including Hindi. Though it is primarily targeted at the age group of 7–9 years and for the global market at that, on the whole the series is a family entertainer.

Under the able leadership of Prafull Gade (Associate Producer), who diligently married economics with creativity and Ravi Mahapatro (Line Producer) who was responsible for managing the day-to-day operations. A team of 280 artists have worked on this project which is directed by the tag team of Vincent Edwards who has earlier worked on Spider Man: TV Series and R. Balasubramaniam, while the music has been rendered by Varaprasad.

The series explores a lot of very interesting stories beyond the popularly known ones from the life of Krishna, ones that have never before been presented to the audience, thus ensuring a truly superior and exclusive content.
